In any job management system acceptance is the moment a priced offer becomes committed work. Done right, the system creates the job for you and freezes the agreed details, so what you quoted is what the job says even if things change later. That is what Chippie automates.
What acceptance creates
When a quote is accepted, either by you in the app or by the client from their emailed link, Chippie creates two things in one step:
- The job, carrying the quoted details as they stood at acceptance.
- A draft invoice, already holding the agreed amounts.
- The record on the client, so the whole sequence is in their history from this point on.
No retyping, no copy-paste, no doing it tonight. The paperwork for the rest of the job's life is started the moment the client says yes.
The job carries a snapshot of the deal
The job takes the quote's details as they stood at acceptance. That is deliberate: the accepted quote is the agreement. Editing the quote afterwards does not silently rewrite the job, which protects both sides when there is a question about what was agreed.
Track the job to done
Jobs carry a status through the work, and every change is logged with a time, so there is a history of what happened and when.
| Stage | What it means |
|---|---|
| Ready | Accepted and waiting to start |
| In progress | Work has begun, sessions can be booked against it |
| Completed | The work is done and the invoice becomes ready to send |
Jobs can also be scheduled on the calendar, one work session per day the job runs.
