In any job management system the calendar answers two different questions: when am I going to look at work I have not won yet, and when am I doing work I have. Chippie keeps both on one calendar, colour-coded so you can tell them apart at a glance.
Two kinds of booking
| Booking | Belongs to | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Site visit | A pending quote | The look-and-measure before the price |
| Work session | A ready or in-progress job | The actual doing |
Tap a date on the calendar, pick from your pending quotes or ready jobs, and the booking lands linked to the client and the work rather than as a loose calendar note. That link is the whole point: a calendar entry that knows which job it belongs to can take you to the job, and to the client's address.
Plain-language times everywhere
Quotes and jobs show their next scheduled time in plain language on lists and detail pages:
- "Today" and "Tomorrow" rather than a date you have to decode.
- A weekday name for anything inside the week.
- The date itself once it is further out.
So you do not have to open the calendar to know what is next.
Getting to site
Because the booking is linked to the client, the client's address is right there: tap to navigate from the job page. No copying an address out of one app and into another while sitting in the ute.
Common questions#
Can I schedule a job across several days?
What about repeat work like fortnightly maintenance?
Does the client get told when I book a visit?
Why are site visits and work sessions separate?
